Popular smartphone maker Vivo is currently reportedly working on their upcoming Vivo S16 series of smartphones. Under this lineup, three models – Vivo S16, S16e and S16 Pro – are likely to debut in the market. The series will be launched initially in the home market of China as the successor to the Vivo S15 lineup that was launched last May. However, nothing has been confirmed by Vivo about the launch of the handsets yet.
But now ahead of the launch, Vivo S16 series processor and color variant details have been leaked online.
Color variants of El Vivo S16 series handsets revealed
Chinese tipster Assen recently claimed that the launch event of the Vivo X90 flagship series will be Vivo's next big event. It is expected to be officially launched in December this year. The tipster also reported that the Vivo S16 lineup is unlikely to launch this year, indicating that it could debut in the domestic market in the first quarter of 2023. And now the same tipster has claimed that Vivo's next S-series will include three models namely Vivo S16e, S16 and S16 Pro. According to him, these devices could be powered by MediaTek Dimension 1080, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 and upcoming Dimension 8200V chipsets respectively. Of these, only the Pro model is expected to come with the Vivo V1Plus Image Signal Processor (ISP).
On the other hand, tipster Panda is Bald claimed in his recent Weibo (Chinese microblogging website) post that the standard Vivo S16 model will be available in Black, Blue and Purple color options. Again, the Vivo S16 Pro model will be available in the market in shades like Black, Green and Orange Gold. However, no information about the specifications of the S16 series handsets has surfaced yet.
Note that the regular Vivo S15 launched last May comes with a 6.62-inch display, while the S15 Pro has a 6.56-inch screen. Both support Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Both the phones have a 32-megapixel front camera and are powered by a 4,500 mAh battery. However, the S15 supports 66W charging, while the S15 Pro offers 80W charging.
As for performance, the S15 and S15 Pro handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor and MediaTek Dimension 8100 processor respectively. The S15 features a triple camera unit with a 64-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the other hand, the Vivo S15 Pro's triple camera module includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
